Melancolia: Building an Album in Real Time

Melancolia is not a traditional album.

Melancolia is not a traditional album. Instead of disappearing into a studio for months and releasing everything at once, I’ve decided to build this project gradually throughout the year.

A new song will be released every six weeks. Each track will become another piece of the story, slowly shaping the album as time passes. Rather than a finished object revealed at the end, Melancolia will grow step by step, in public, with every release adding a new chapter.

But the project goes even further.

For one song — possibly two if the concept works well — I want to open the writing process to the people who follow this project. In other words, you could become part of the album itself.

On this website, you will find a form where you can submit ideas: lyrics, themes, concepts, lines, or emotional directions that could inspire a song. This is not a contest. I will personally read the submissions and choose the person whose idea resonates the most with the music and the spirit of the project.

If your idea is selected, you will become an official co-writer of the song.

This means there will be a formal co-writing agreement, and you will be credited as a co-author when the track is released. As with any songwriter, you will also receive your share of royalties from streams, sales, and all forms of distribution of the song.

The goal is simple: to turn Melancolia into something alive, something that connects the music with the people who listen to it.
